The Uribarren Abaroa Foundation<\/strong> is a long-established non-profit institution that dates back to 1869, promoted by Jose<\/strong> Javier de Uribarren<\/strong> and Pascual de Abaroa<\/strong>.
\nThe governing and representing body of the Foundation is its board of trustees<\/strong>, made up of the following patrons:
\n– Parish priest of Lekeitio
\n– Mayor of Lekeitio
\n– Descendants of the Uribarren family and the Abaroa family
\nThey have the support and council of a Managing Director and a large and qualified multidisciplinary team.<\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div>

From its origins, this Foundation has dedicated itself to attend disadvantaged and \/ or sick people<\/strong> (Hospital Abaroa) and children<\/strong> (Hospice Uribarren de San Jos\u00e9). Constant evolution of the society in which we live has made the Foundation adapt to the changes<\/strong> that people require. This is why, in 1978<\/strong>, Uribarren Abaroa became a Residence<\/strong>, focusing on the care of elderly people who are at risk of dependency and especially on the sector of dependent elderly people. In 2007<\/strong> the Foundation launched a Day Centre<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div>

Continuing with the commitment to social integration <\/strong>of our users and the common good of the people from Leketio town itself, in 2017,<\/strong> a private collection of exotic birds<\/strong> (Mini Zoo)<\/strong> and a botanical garden<\/strong> were added to our facilities. Both spaces have a character both educational and informative especially focused on school groups.<\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
