Also within the Uribarren Abaroa gardens we can find a Private Collection of Exotic Birds (Uribarren Abaroa Mini Zoo), with more than 50 specimens of 28 different species. There you can see a selection of the most beautiful and curious birds, all of which were born and bred in captivity, and of course, this would otherwise be impossible to see except in their natural habitat.

Here, through the guided tour, both schoolchildren and anyone interested will discover the distinguishing traits of these birds, their different habitats, their food and customs, by means of the individual information panels located inside the Mini Zoo.

Within the Uribarren Abaroa Foundation, and specifically within the field of Occupational Therapy, we are working with our residents in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and in this case with birds. The main objective of this therapy, in which the person and animal meet each other, is to improve the emotional quality of the human being, although the benefits cover all aspects (psychic, physical, educational, social and emotional).
